Job summary

Rocket Lab in Long Beach, CA seeks a Senior Systems Engineer II – Mission Architecture to lead the formulation of satellite systems, manage technical budgets and requirements, and oversee the systems engineering process for civil, national security, and commercial missions.

You will support the VP of Business Development and Strategy, coordinate with the Space Systems Business Development organization, and contribute to internal leadership, board materials, and investor deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (software, computer, electrical, aerospace, mechanical, or other technical engineering discipline)
• 8+ years of experience in the aerospace industry
• Experience supporting satellite and/or spacecraft development programs
• Active TS/SCI clearance

Responsibilities

• Lead satellite engineering formulation supporting business development and new opportunity capture
• Develop and maintain technical budgets for vehicle performance and system requirements/verification methods
• Lead and own technical development of spacecraft missions
• Assist with program and product management
• Develop interface specifications and CONOPS definitions with team
• Collaborate with customers and leadership to shape requirements and core architecture for proposals
