Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in the Greater Seattle Area is seeking a Satellite Simulation & Test Software Engineer III to design, implement, and verify simulation environments for TeraWave flight software. You will work with cross-functional teams to build scalable simulators supporting software-only, HWIL, and real-time testing across a growing 5,408-vehicle constellation.

The role requires strong C++ and Python skills, experience with IPC, and familiarity with CI/CD and containerized environments. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (CS/SE/Aerospace)
• 3–5+ years in spacecraft software, simulation, or embedded software
• Proven C++ development for flight/embedded systems
• Strong C, C++, and Python skills; OO design
• Familiarity with IPC mechanisms, sockets, shared memory, message queues, or publish/subscribe middleware
• Experience with software lifecycle, Git, CI/CD, and containerized environments
• Verification/validation practices for mission-critical embedded software
• U.S. citizenship or eligible for U.S. employment

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement simulation software to test and verify the flight software
• Collaborate to deploy simulation on multiple platforms for SIL/HIL and real-time testing
• Work with hardware, systems, and autonomy engineers to define interfaces and boundaries
• Develop and integrate models to test FSW across nominal and off-nominal scenarios
• Participate in software integration, verification, and validation testing
