Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Communications Systems Architect to define complete, end-to-end communication system solutions for space and airborne missions. The role requires leading architecture across antennas, RF, digital processing, firmware, software, and interfaces, while guiding trades and risk assessments.

Successful candidates will have deep expertise in multiple communications disciplines and a proven track record in system-level design, customer collaboration, and winning proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
• 15+ years of experience developing complex communication systems or payloads with leadership experience.
• Experience translating customer needs into end-to-end architectures and executable engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end technical solutions as the primary technical architect for customer pursuits.
• Define architectures spanning antennas, RF front ends, data conversion, digital processing, beamforming, firmware, and interfaces.
• Lead system-level trades balancing performance, cost, schedule, and risk.
• Translate mission needs into differentiated technical solutions with customers and BD teams.
• Lead technical capture and proposals with architecture, requirements, and development plans.
• Establish system-level requirements, interfaces, and verification approaches to a credible baseline.
• Transition solutions from pursuit to execution, ensuring alignment across teams.
