Job summary

Rocket Lab in Long Beach, CA, is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager I to own high-volume satellite production from prototype through full-rate production, balancing cost, yield, and schedule. You will lead a team of teams, drive manufacturing excellence, and manage strategic supplier relationships in a fast-paced environment.

You will coordinate with Chief Engineers, BD & Strategy, and production teams to deliver reliable spacecraft.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in physics, math, science, or other technical discipline.
5+ years of program management experience.
Proven track record of owning a technical program, product, or team end to end and delivering under pressure.
Evidence you moved hardware and software from prototype toward high-rate production with quantified yield, throughput and cost gains.
Understanding takt time, line-of-balance, design-for-manufacturing, and learning-curve economics.
Experience identifying tooling, supply-chain, or yield risk and neutralizing it before it slows the line.
U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

Command the Lifecycle: lead satellites from concept through qualification, full-rate production, and flight, owning the technical roadmap.
Lead the Team of Teams: manage multiple programs, make architectural calls with Chief Engineers, optimize design-for-manufacturing and rate-readiness.
Build the Bench: foster bold, accountable teams and coach future leaders while balancing risk and speed.
Forge the Supply Chain: manage high-stakes subcontracts and supplier partnerships to protect schedule and margin.
Unblock Excellence: synchronize cross-functional teams and clear roadblocks to maintain speed and quality.
Influence the Future: interface with constellation operators and contribute to proposals and technical narratives.
