Job summary

Sentar is seeking a Senior Satellite Engineer to join our defense-focused team in Huntsville, Alabama. This role supports operations, management, and maintenance of satellite and ground systems to ensure continuous, reliable communications for Fleet, Joint, and interagency operations.

The position requires TS/SCI clearance, a BS in Engineering or Physical Sciences, and at least five years of satellite engineering experience, including on-console/off-console work.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in satellite system design operations, trend analysis and anomaly resolution.
• Experience combining supervisory, technical, and satellite engineering knowledge.
• Ability to make timely knowledge-based decisions directing local technical efforts.
• Experience with On-Console and Off-Console satellite engineering expertise.

Responsibilities

• Perform telemetry data trending and analysis to assess satellite health and risks.
• Support briefing the support crew, verify command transmission, monitor telemetry, and execute contingency actions.
• Analyze real-time and archived telemetry data to trend satellite subsystems (Power, Momentum, Propulsion, Thermal, Attitude).
• Provide quarterly SOH reports and identify trends impacting mission requirements.
• Develop corrective actions to maintain satellite system health and reduce risk.
