Job summary

Sentar is seeking a Senior Satellite Engineer to support operations, management, and maintenance of satellite and ground systems ensuring reliable communications in direct support of Fleet, Joint and interagency operations. This position is dependent on contract award.

Responsibilities include telemetry trending, contingency actions, and quarterly SOH reporting, with an emphasis on timely, knowledge-based decisions and both On-Console and Off-Console expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences.
• Five years of experience in satellite system design, operations, trend analysis and anomaly resolution.
• TS/SCI clearance required.
• Experience with On-Console and off-Console satellite engineering knowledge.

• Perform telemetry data trending and analysis to assess satellite SOH and mitigate risks.
• Support briefing the support crew, verify command transmission, monitor telemetry and execute contingency actions.
• Analyze real-time and archived telemetry data to trend subsystem performance (Power, Momentum, Propulsion, Thermal, Attitude Control).
• Provide quarterly SOH reports for satellite subsystems and identify trends.
• Develop corrective actions to maintain satellite system health and reduce operational risk.

Sentar is seeking a Senior Satellite Engineer

Role Description:

We are seeking a Senior Satellite Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will support the operations, management and maintenance of satellite and ground systems ensuring continuous and reliable satellite communications in direct support of Fleet, Joint and interagency operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform telemetry data trending and analysis to assess satellite state of health (SOH), identify performance trends, and mitigate risks to the operational mission
• Support briefing the support crew, verifying command transmission, monitoring satellite telemetry, and executing contingency actions to safe and recover (if possible) the satellite during anomalous events
• Analyze real-time and archived telemetry data to develop graphs and charts that trend the performance of satellite subsystems, including Power, Momentum, Propulsion, Thermal, and Attitude Control.
• Provide a quarterly report highlighting the SOH for each satellite subsystem and identifying any trends that may degrade or influence the satellite's ability to meet mission requirements
• Develop and recommend to the DGR any corrective actions required to maintain satellite system health and reduce operational risk

Qualifications:

Clearance Level: TS/SCI

Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences

Experience:

• Five years of experience in satellite system design operations, trend analysis and anomaly resolution.
• Recent experience includes an appropriate combination of supervisory, technical, and satellite engineering knowledge
• Ability to make timely knowledge-based decisions in directing local technical efforts.
• Experienced with On-Console and off-Console satellite engineering expertise
