Job summary

Quindar seeks a backend engineer to develop the C2 software connecting our platform to satellite vehicles. You will build systems that enable diverse spacecraft to communicate reliably while abstracting complexity from users.

The role emphasizes machine-to-machine communication, real-time and embedded systems, and implementing standards such as CCSDS, CSP, CFDP, XTCE and MIB. You’ll work with Python and Rust, collaborate across disciplines, and contribute to scalable, maintainable space

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of professional experience developing software for satellite command and control, telecommunications, networking, robotics, embedded systems, industrial automation, IoT, defense systems, or similarly complex machine-to-machine / hardware-software systems.
• Demonstrated experience taking a protocol, interface specification, or hardware integration from documentation through implementation, testing, troubleshooting, and production operation.
• Prior aerospace experience is not required; strong systems and communications experience in adjacent industries are encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend C2 software connecting Quindar’s platform to satellite vehicles and heterogeneous constellations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to onboard new satellite vehicles and translate spacecraft interfaces into reliable integrations.
• Develop abstractions, tooling, and architecture to support many spacecraft without building every integration from scratch.
• Ensure reliable communication with remote systems, manage state, and monitor performance and observability.
