Job summary

SES Space & Defense seeks a Principal Systems Engineer – SATCOM to lead systems engineering, integration, verification, and operational readiness for multi-orbit satellite communications. You will translate mission needs into practical, testable solutions across GEO, MEO, LEO, and hybrid SATCOM, coordinating with customers, vendors, and engineering teams.

You will define requirements, interfaces, and verification strategies, develop lifecycle artifacts, and apply Model-Based Systems Engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• 8+ years of progressively responsible systems engineering experience.
• Experience in SATCOM, RF or networked communications.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering from needs through deployment and transition.
• Define interfaces, requirements, and traceability across architectures.
• Develop CONOPS, ICDs, and verification artifacts.
• Apply MBSE processes to clarify behavior and interfaces.
• Lead integration across SATCOM terminals, antennas, and networks.
• Develop verification plans, test procedures, and readiness reviews.
