We are seeking a Senior SAS Programmer to join our Data Insights Team. The successful candidate will support multiple reporting platforms and be responsible for creating Excel and PDF reports using Base SAS, based on business requirement documents. This role also involves system testing and issue resolution as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Participate in requirements and design sessions; develop and implement new system components or fixes to resolve system defects using business intelligence software and related tools.
• Read and interpret business requirement documents, seek clarification when necessary, and adhere to standard change control, configuration management practices, and departmental development standards.
• Reuse source code wherever applicable.
• Develop and execute component tests, and track and document system defects.
• Participate in software design and code reviews.
• Recommend improvements to design and development standards, procedures, and guidelines.
• Perform other related duties as required to support the responsibilities listed above.
• Participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation to support the platform.
  
  

Required Skills/Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field, plus five years of related experience in application design and programming. (We will consider any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.)
• 5+ years of advanced experience with SAS programming and administration.
• 3+ years of experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-starter with excellent communication skills, capable of interacting with both business and technical teams.

• Experience in the insurance industry, especially healthcare-related.
• Experience with system administration and on-call support processes.
