MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Expert SAR Imagery Scientist to join our team in Springfield, VA. This is a full-time onsite position.

Responsibilities include assessing sensor characteristics, data formats, preprocessing for labeling and model testing, and exploring coincident imagery from other platforms to align with collection capabilities. The role requires 20+ years of experience and advanced processing using Python, MATLAB, and SAR tools.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of experience in remote sensing or SAR domains; degree-based equivalencies apply.
• 6+ years as a SAR expert with knowledge of data collection and exploitation.
• Experience with SARPy and MATLAB SAR toolbox.
• Experience with RNIIRS and SAR imagery quality metrics.
• Strong proficiency in Python and MATLAB for automating SAR workflows.
• Familiarity with metadata, formats, and data schemas for SAR data.

Responsibilities

• Assess differences between new sensor characteristics and current platforms.
• Evaluate metadata, data formats, and ETL aspects for ingestion pipelines.
• Determine data acquisition strategies and security domains.
• Pre-process and standardize SAR data for labeling and testing.
• Investigate gaps in sensor capabilities and supplement with other sources.
• Explore coincident imagery from other platforms for expanded coverage.
