Job summary

Grainger, a leading MRO distributor, is hiring for a SAP/ECM-focused role in Lake Forest, IL. The expert will configure systems, refine user stories, and validate tests across complex SAP-enabled processes within a fast-paced, governance-driven environment.

The role emphasizes integration between SAP modules (EWM, GTS, WM) and surrounding applications, with a strong focus on documentation, security, and scalable solutions. Hybrid work and a competitive compensation package are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree in Business or Information Systems is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of SAP experience with increasing responsibility in analysis, configuration, and testing.
• Proficiency in 1–2 SAP modules; hands-on experience designing and implementing integrated SAP solutions. Prefer SAP GTS, WM, Stockroom Management and/or EWM.
• Certifications: SAP module training (e.g., SAP SD, MM, S/4HANA); Agile Product Ownership or Scrum Master certifications are a plus.
• Experience with Generative AI and knowledge of Machine Learning concepts.

Responsibilities

• Configure system solutions for defined business requirements within an application.
• Collaborate with product owners and business users to refine user stories.
• Create, execute, and validate test cases across configuration and functional changes.
• Document functional specifications and user procedures.
• Troubleshoot configuration, master data, and user errors.
• Maintain security, compliance and audit standards.
• Lead cross-functional configuration work and act as SME.
• Design and implement complex configuration across integrated system processes (e.g., ECC into EWM).
• Lead requirement gathering sessions and align with business and IT.
• Perform root cause analysis and identify long-term fixes.
• Mentor peers and junior talent.
