Job summary

Grainger, a leading broad line distributor, is seeking an SAP-focused Configuration Analyst for its Warehouse Management Systems team in Lake Forest, IL. The role emphasizes integration between SAP modules and other applications, with a strong focus on documentation and governance.

You will help define business requirements, configure SAP solutions, and validate changes while collaborating with product owners and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business systems, engineering, or related field.
• 1–3 years SAP configuration, functional support, or business analysis experience.
• Working knowledge of SAP modules such as GTS, WM, or EWM; SPRO/ALM experience.
• Ability to write functional specs, run test plans, and deliver runbooks and cutover plans.
• Interest in Generative AI/ML applications for supply chain is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provides functional configuration and testing expertise in core business systems. Translates business requirements into functional specs and supports day-to-day system performance.
• Independently configure system solutions for defined business requirements within an application.
• Collaborate with product owners and business users to refine user stories.
• Create, execute, and validate test cases across configuration and functional changes.
• Document functional specifications and user procedures.
• Troubleshoot common issues related to configuration, master data, and user errors.
• Maintain security, compliance and audit standards.
• Contribute to process improvement efforts by identifying inefficiencies in the current config and process flow. Track and improve metrics for system effectiveness and delivery processes.
• Participate in release planning and ensure timely delivery of stories.
