Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA is seeking a Senior SAP Data Transformation Lead to design reference architectures and reusable ETL patterns for data ingestion, cleansing, and loading into SAP. You will partner with data owners, analysts, and vendors to deliver auditable pipelines using SAP BODS and related tools.

The role requires a hands-on leader who can drive automation, observability, and security across modern data platforms.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data engineering with large-scale systems.
• Proficient in distributed data processing, orchestration, and storage patterns.
• Strong automation, scripting, and version control practices.
• Experience leading SAP data conversion and migration workstreams.
• Advanced hands-on expertise with SAP BODS (jobs, workflows, data stores, transformations, migration).
• Strong SQL, data mapping, profiling, reconciliation, and ETL pipeline development.
• Proven ability to collaborate with analysts, SAP teams, engineers, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Design reusable patterns for batch and streaming ingestion and transformations.
• Build automation for quality, lineage, and governance checks within CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop internal tooling and golden paths for faster data delivery.
• Harden security and privacy controls across platforms and pipelines.
• Increase reliability with SLOs, telemetry, monitoring, and observability tools.
• Guide cloud services usage and container orchestration for scalability.
• Maintain infrastructure as code with Terraform/Ansible/CloudFormation.
• Lead technical reviews and ensure designs meet engineering standards.
• Document standards, playbooks, and reusable components.
• Coach teams on data modeling and performance optimization.
• Support urgent incidents when needed.
• Lead SAP data conversion from extraction to load across environments.
• Design and maintain SAP BODS jobs and deployment components.
• Translate data requirements into executable ETL specifications.
• Coordinate with vendors to ensure delivery quality.
