Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a senior SAP ABAP consultant with 10+ years of hands-on development and support experience in SAP S/4HANA environments. You will provide technical ABAP support, develop CDS/RAP applications, and optimize OData/Fiori interfaces in a production setting.

Responsibilities include incident resolution, IDoc monitoring, CPI integrations, and delivering sustainable improvements.

Qualifications

10+ years of hands-on SAP ABAP development and support experience with at least 5+ years in SAP S/4HANA environments.
Extensive experience supporting SAP S/4HANA production environments and resolving complex technical issues within SLA commitments.
Strong hands-on expertise in CDS Views with the ability to develop, troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing objects.
Experience developing and supporting RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model) applications.
Strong hands-on experience with OData Services and SAP Fiori applications.
Proven experience with IDoc processing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and enhancement activities.
Strong experience analyzing and resolving SAP AIF (Application Interface Framework) errors and interface failures.
Experience supporting SAP CPI integrations and working with interface teams during issue resolution.
Exposure to SAP BTP technologies and services.
Strong expertise in ABAP Objects, Reports, ALV Reports, SmartForms, Adobe Forms, BAPIs, BADIs, User Exits, and Enhancement Framework.
Hands-on experience using Eclipse ADT and Git-enabled transport management processes.
Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization experience using SQL Trace (ST05), Runtime Analysis (SAT), SQL Monitor, and SAP HANA tools.
Experience supporting business processes across FICO, SD, PTP, VIM, CCM, and SAP CPI integration landscapes.
Strong analytical and debugging skills with the ability to independently perform root cause analysis and implement permanent solutions.
Excellent communication skills with proven experience working directly with customers, business users, and cross-functional teams.
Candidate must be a hands-on technical consultant capable of independently delivering solutions. This role is not suitable for candidates with primarily conceptual or theoretical knowledge.

Responsibilities

Provide technical application support for SAP S/4HANA ABAP developments in a production support environment.
Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, service requests, defects, and system performance issues.
Monitor, analyze, and support inbound and outbound IDoc interfaces.
Investigate and resolve AIF-related errors, interface failures, and data processing issues.
Develop, support, and optimize CDS Views, RAP applications, OData Services, and Fiori applications.
Perform root cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions for recurring production issues.
Deliver minor enhancements, defect fixes, reports, interfaces, forms, and technical changes typically up to 50 development hours.
Collaborate closely with customer stakeholders, business users, functional consultants, integration teams, and AMS support teams.
Support SAP CPI integrations and participate in end-to-end interface troubleshooting activities.
Perform application performance analysis and tuning using ST05, SAT, and SAP HANA optimization techniques.
Participate in incident, problem, and change management activities.
Ensure compliance with SAP development standards, documentation requirements, and support processes.
Act as a senior technical advisor during production incidents and critical business-impacting issues.
Participate in extended support hours, including evenings, weekends, and major incident bridge calls when required for Critical (P1) and High Priority (P2) incidents.
