You will prepare and review SALT returns, provide technical guidance, assist in audits, and contribute to tax planning strategies. The position emphasizes collaboration with other departments, mentoring staff, and staying current with evolving SALT regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, taxation, or related field.
• CPA or CPA track preferred, not required.
• 2 years of state and local tax experience, preferably in public accounting or consulting.
• Knowledge of state and local tax laws and regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical and research skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare or review state and local sales tax, personal property tax, and corporate income tax returns.
• Conduct research and provide technical advice on SALT issues.
• Assist clients with SALT audits including defense and negotiation.
• Develop and implement SALT planning strategies to minimize liabilities.
• Stay current on SALT laws and communicate changes to clients and team.
• Mentor and train staff, supporting professional development.
