Job summary

Compunnel, Inc. in San Francisco seeks a Data & Marketing Technology Engineer to drive platform modernization, data integration, governance, and operational excellence within the marketing technology stack.

You will partner with business, technology, architecture, risk, and operations teams to implement scalable solutions and improve platform reliability across cloud-based data environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, integration engineering, or platform engineering roles.
• Strong experience developing and supporting distributed data processing solutions using Apache Spark, Databricks, or similar data engineering technologies.
• Experience designing and implementing REST APIs, event-driven integrations, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Proficiency in SQL and data modeling concepts.
• Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines and data transformation frameworks.
• Experience working in cloud environments and modern data platforms.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with business and technology stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support data pipelines, integrations, and reusable technical capabilities across marketing technology platforms.
• Build and maintain APIs, data services, and system integrations between marketing platforms, enterprise applications, and cloud-based data environments.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to improve data quality, operational processes, governance controls, and platform performance.
• Develop technical documentation, solution designs, architecture artifacts, and operational procedures.
• Support platform modernization through automation, standardization, security, observability, and operational excellence.
• Identify and resolve technology, data, and integration issues through root-cause analysis and remediation.
• Establish and promote engineering best practices, technical standards, and governance processes.
• Collaborate with architecture, security, risk, and delivery teams to ensure solutions align with enterprise standards and compliance requirements.
• Drive complex technical initiatives from analysis through implementation.
• Support scalable solutions and sustainable engineering practices across the marketing technology ecosystem.
