Job summary

Qualifications

• Accounting degree preferred; Relevant Sales & Use Tax experience may be considered in lieu of degree
• 3-4+ years of relevant Sales & Use Tax or indirect tax experience preferred
• Experience with Sales & Use Tax compliance and return preparation
• Strong understanding of taxability and tax rates
• Experience working directly with transactional tax data
• Strong analytical and root-cause analysis skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Must be available to work approximately 8:30/9:00 AM-5:00 PM ET

Responsibilities

• Prepare sales and use tax returns and supporting schedules
• Analyze transactional data for appropriate taxability and tax rates
• Reconcile sales and use tax activity and research discrepancies
• Identify trends, issues, and root causes within tax data
• Respond to tax-related questions and provide research support
• Support tax audits by gathering data, reviewing invoices, and preparing documentation
• Maintain accurate tax records and supporting workpapers
• Work extensively in Excel to analyze and reconcile high-volume transaction data
• Collaborate with Accounting, Finance, Operations, and other business teams
• Support process improvements and tax compliance initiatives
