Senior Sales Manager - EVEN Hotel Midtown East

Hotel: New York - Midtown East (NYCEV), 221 East 44th Street, 10017

The Senior Sales Manager develops business through direct sales solicitation for an assigned territory or market segment(s). This role also supports the Sales and Marketing Director in developing and setting sales and marketing strategies, ensuring the plans are implemented, results are monitored and sales goals are achieved. This role will focus on Business Travel.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Establishes a client base of individuals, organizations, associations, social, and/or corporate businesses through direct outside and inside selling to secure business for the hotel to ensure that room night sales and revenue goals are met or exceeded.
  2. Prospects and qualifies new business.
  3. Negotiates guest room rates, meeting room rental, function space, and/or hotel services within approved booking guidelines.
  4. Produces and/or reviews all sales contracts, rate agreements, and/or banquet/catering event orders.
  5. Identifies additional sales opportunities to enhance revenue in partnership with other department heads.
  6. Entertains clients in accordance with established company and hotel policies and guidelines.
  7. Attends and represents the hotel at trade shows and conventions and/or participates in sales trips to key feeder markets.
  8. Follows up with clients regularly during and after departure to ensure satisfaction and secure future bookings.
  9. Arranges and conducts special events, site inspections, and off-site presentations for potential clients to build loyal client partnerships.
  10. Serves as one of the public relations representatives of the hotel and brand champion to the travel, tourism, corporate travel professionals, travel industry associations and events to promote and drive business to the hotel.
  11. Develops and maintains good relationships with officials and representatives of local community groups and companies, and attends out-of-town conventions and trade shows to promote new business and increase sales for the hotel (e.g., Tourism Board/CVB, Chamber of Commerce, etc.).

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  1. 3-5 years of sales or marketing related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Must speak fluent English.
  3. Flexible work schedule.

Preferred

  1. Bilingual.
  2. Prior hotel sales experience.

Other:

Communication skills are utilized significantly when interacting with others; demonstrated ability to interact with guests, employees, and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand, and the Company. Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when completing paperwork and management reports, interpreting results, giving and receiving instructions, and training. Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances are utilized frequently. Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational, and training abilities are used often. May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Frequently standing up or moving within and outside of the facility.
  2. Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  3. Travel to attend tradeshows, meetings, or training.

The salary range for this role is $70,000 to $85,000. This job is also eligible for bonus pay. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401k, and many other benefits to eligible employees.
