Position Overview

Reporting to the Director of Commercial Strategy, the Senior Sales Group Manager is a key revenue-driving leader responsible for curating and securing group business that aligns with the brand positioning of a luxury boutique property. This role focuses on cultivating high-value, experience-driven group segments, including corporate retreats, incentive travel, social events, and bespoke buyouts.

The ideal candidate is a polished, relationship-oriented sales professional who understands the nuances of the luxury market and delivers a highly personalized, consultative sales approach. This individual will be responsible for achieving and exceeding revenue goals while maintaining the integrity, exclusivity, and character of the property.

This position is fully property-based and requires a strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment, with an unwavering commitment to service excellence and brand storytelling.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Revenue Generation
  • Identify, solicit, and secure group business that aligns with the hotel’s luxury positioning, focusing on high-rated, experience-driven opportunities rather than volume-driven sales.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue goals, including room revenue, total spend, and ancillary revenue streams.
  • Curate business opportunities that complement the hotel’s brand identity, ensuring optimal guest mix and overall profitability.
  • Partner closely with Revenue Management to strategically price and position group opportunities, ensuring proper displacement analysis and rate integrity.
Luxury Sales Experience & Client Engagement
  • Deliver a highly personalized, consultative sales approach, tailoring each proposal to reflect the unique needs and expectations of luxury clientele.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador, articulating the story, design, and experiential elements of the property in a compelling manner.
  • Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with high-value clients, meeting planners, agencies, and industry influencers.
  • Host curated site inspections, FAM trips, and bespoke client experiences that reflect the hotel’s service philosophy and attention to detail.
  • Manage the complete lifecycle of group sales, from initial inquiry through contract execution and post-event follow-up.
  • Prepare and present customized proposals, contracts, and presentations with a strong focus on detail, creativity, and brand alignment.
  • Negotiate contracts with a strategic balance of client satisfaction and revenue optimization.
  • Oversee complex bookings, including partial or full property buyouts, ensuring all contractual and operational elements are clearly defined and executed.
  • Work closely with Catering & Events, Operations, and Guest Experience teams to ensure seamless execution of group programs.
  • Communicate client expectations clearly and proactively to internal teams, ensuring a flawless and elevated guest experience.
  • Participate in weekly strategy meetings, revenue discussions, and forecasting sessions.
  • Act as a liaison between the client and hotel operations, maintaining a high level of engagement throughout the planning process.
Market Intelligence & Brand Positioning
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the luxury hospitality market, including competitor positioning, emerging trends, and guest expectations.
  • Position the hotel strategically within the competitive set, emphasizing its unique design, service culture, and curated experiences.
  • Represent the property at luxury-focused trade shows, industry events, and networking functions.
  • Build meaningful relationships within the local community and luxury travel networks to generate qualified leads.
Operational Excellence & Administration
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all sales activities, forecasts, and client interactions within the hotel systems (e.g., Opera, CRM, etc.).
  • Ensure all contracts, deposits, and billing arrangements are executed in accordance with hotel policies and luxury service standards.
  • Monitor group pace, production, and revenue forecasts, adjusting strategies as needed to meet objectives.
  • Support and mentor junior sales team members, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in selling high-end, experience-driven group business and/or luxury buyouts.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills with a polished, professional presence.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and storytelling abilities.
  • Deep understanding of luxury service standards and guest expectations.
  • Proficiency in hotel sales and CRM systems (Opera, Delphi, or equivalent) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong business acumen, including revenue management principles and market analysis.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to travel and represent the hotel/brand at a high level.
  • 401(k) after 1 year of employment
