Job summary

Dollar General in Lehighton, PA is seeking a motivated Cashier/Stocker to support store operations and leadership in the absence of the Store Manager. You will unload trucks, stock and display merchandise, and provide superior customer service while safeguarding assets.

You will also handle register transactions, assist in planogram execution, and help maintain a clean, safe shopping environment. Prior cash handling and supervisory exposure is a plus; flexible availability is helpful.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and cash handling procedures.
• Experience with IBM cash registers and basic point-of-sale functions.
• Knowledge of cashier accountability, deposit control, and cash handling policies.
• Strong interpersonal and written/spoken communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-grams and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to store procedures.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock merchandise and rotate on shelves; build displays.
• Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Greet customers and assist in locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register; total and bag purchases; collect payment.
• Maintain clean, safe store environment and front-end areas.
• Open/close the store under Area Manager direction.
• In manager's absence, authorize refunds, manage cash, and deposits.
• Monitor cash levels and security practices; ensure cashier accountability.
