Job summary

Demand Detroit, part of Daimler Truck North America, is seeking a Corporate Safety Specialist III to lead safety programs in manufacturing settings. You will partner with operations, engineering, maintenance and union reps to identify risks and embed safety into projects and daily work.

You will analyze safety data, drive continuous improvement, conduct incident investigations, and support capital projects from design through commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Environmental Health, Occupational Health, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience supporting occupational safety programs within manufacturing, industrial, construction, engineering, or operational environments.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA, NOM, CSA, NFPA, NEC, ANSI, and applicable safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Experience supporting safety activities for capital projects, facility construction, equipment installations, process improvements, or operational readiness initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Partner with site leadership, operational teams, union representatives, and the Corporate Safety Team to support safety initiatives and achieve site safety objectives.
• Build employee trust through visible and consistent safety support while reducing the human, operational, and financial impact of workplace injuries.
• Lead and support project safety activities including risk assessments, design reviews, contractor safety management, pre-startup safety reviews, and operational readiness evaluations.
• Coordinate safety requirements for capital projects, facility modifications, and equipment installations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and DTNA standards.
• Drive safety performance by facilitating incident investigations, risk assessments, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
