Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Senior Safety Specialist to oversee safety at multiple job sites and provide on-site training for contractor activities. You will ensure compliance with the Area/Resident Office Safety Plan and EM 385-1-1 provisions, attending preparatory meetings and reviewing APP/AHA for projects.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health (or related field) and 10+ years of health and safety experience, with a focus on federal solutions and government

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of related work experience in Health and Safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety oversight for multiple job sites.
• Provide daily site safety assessments and training for specific contractor activities (i.e., trenching, elevated work, etc.).
• Requirements of the Area/Resident Office's Safety Plan shall be followed and implemented as well as all pertinent provisions of EM 385-1-1.
• Attend construction activity preparatory meetings.
• Review and assess contractor Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and activity hazard analyses (AHA) for multiple projects. Any condition which poses a serious or imminent danger to the health or safety of the public, Contractor personnel, or Government personnel, shall be immediately reported to the Contractor's Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) and the COR for action.
• Prepare Engineer (ENG) Form 3394, USACE Mishap Notification and Investigation for any labor accident or significant property damage accidents.
• Revise and update the Area/Resident Office's Safety Plan as requested.
