Role Summary

The Senior Safety Specialist will coordinate and implement the field safety program for routine and complex construction projects. Responsibilities include conducting safety inspections, identifying hazardous conditions, writing reports, and performing trend analysis, all in support of JE Dunn's strategy, vision, and values.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

• Coordinate and implement the field safety program for routine construction projects.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, document findings, and recommend abatement of hazards.
• Oversee safety orientation and compliance with drug and alcohol policies.
• Monitor subcontractors' safety programs and participate in project meetings.
• Assist in investigating accidents and coordinate injury management and reporting.

Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core

Additional responsibilities include:

• Handling complex safety hazards and recommending solutions.
• Using safety management systems for trend analysis and reporting.
• Providing safety training and guidance to team members.
• Managing complex projects and safety programs.
• Developing and implementing training strategies and technological tools.
• Monitoring safety metrics and training effectiveness.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in MS Office and safety software.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and hazard recognition.
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in safety or related field preferred; relevant experience considered.
• Minimum 5 years construction safety experience required.

Working Environment

• Valid driver's license required.
