Role Summary

The Senior Safety Specialist will coordinate and implement the field safety program for routine and complex construction projects. Responsibilities include conducting safety inspections, identifying hazardous conditions, writing reports, and performing trend analysis, all aligned with JE Dunn's strategy, vision, and values.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

• Coordinate and implement the field safety program for routine construction projects.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with laws and policies.
• Perform safety audits, document findings, and recommend abatement measures.
• Conduct new hire safety orientations and oversee drug and alcohol policies.
• Monitor subcontractors' safety programs and participate in project meetings.
• Support safety initiatives, lead safety committees, and investigate accidents.
• Coordinate injury management and compile safety reports.

Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core

In addition, this position involves:

• Handling complex safety hazards and providing advanced abatements.
• Utilizing safety management systems for trend analysis and solutions.
• Providing safety training and guidance, assisting in audits, and managing complex projects.
• Developing training strategies and monitoring safety metrics for improvement.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in MS Office and safety software.
• Ability to recognize hazards and enforce safety regulations.
• Experience in environmental testing protocols and construction technology.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in safety or related field preferred, or relevant experience.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience.

Working Environment

• Valid driver's license required.
