Job summary

SkyChefs in the Chicago area is seeking a Safety Manager to lead a safety-driven ramp culture at a large hub near O'Hare, supporting approximately 1,200 employees. You will champion proactive safety, ensuring OSHA, FAA, EPA compliance and partnering with airline partners to embed safety into every decision.

You will design training, develop safety programs, conduct audits and monthly meetings, and guide the team to ownership of safety while overseeing investigations and workers’ compensation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety-related field.
• 3–5 years of safety and operations experience.
• Proven analytical and leadership skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of OSHA, FDA, USDA, EPA regulations.
• Ability to develop and lead teams to meet budgets.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Foster a "safety first" culture where strict adherence to ramp and employee safety processes are non-negotiable.
• Develop and implement training programs that instil a "safety first" culture and provide team with knowledge to follow SOPs.
• Design and implement safety programs that promote ownership of safety and awareness of its importance.
• Coordinate with CSC Leadership on OSHA, FAA, EPA, DOT, and state agencies responsibilities.
• Conduct monthly safety meetings.
• Investigate accidents and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Partner with CSC leadership to ensure audit readiness.
• Oversee Workers' Compensation processes to manage claims.
• Ensure compliance of CSC security procedures and airport badging requirements.
