Job summary

Master Steel in Hardeeville, SC is seeking a Construction Safety Manager to own safety across our fabrication shop, yard, and field erection projects. You will be the safety authority, coordinating with leadership, contractors, and OSHA, and reporting to the HR Manager.

This is an immediate opening with relocation assistance available. The role requires hands-on safety leadership within an AISC Certified operation, OSHA 1910/1926 compliance, and strong documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Four or more years of progressive safety experience in an AISC Certified fabrication/erection operation.
• Direct experience with shop safety (OSHA 1910) and steel erection safety (OSHA 1926 Subpart R).
• Prior supervision of safety staff and building safety programs.
• OSHA 30 Hour Construction certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Own the safety program for shop, yard, and field operations, including training and OSHA record-keeping.
• Represent Master Steel on safety with leadership, contractors, insurance carriers, and OSHA.
• Lead shop safety for fabrication operations and maintain written programs for safety systems.
• Manage exposure monitoring for welding fumes, chromium, manganese, silica, and noise.
• Lead steel erection safety, develop site safety plans, and perform hazard analyses.
• Audit erection sites, oversee lift planning, and drive corrective actions to closure.
• Deliver safety training, investigations, and maintain OSHA logs (300/300A/301).
• Track TRIR, DART, EMR and lead safety committee initiatives.
