Job summary

Midsouth Steel is seeking a Safety Manager to oversee safety across fabrication facilities and construction sites in the Carolinas, with a strong concentration in the Charlotte area. The Safety Manager will direct the Company’s safety program to ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction safety management experience (Field steel fabrication and erection preferred).
• Strong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and applicable 29 CFR 1910 standards.
• Experience with cranes, rigging, structural steel erection, forklifts, MEWPs, and fall protection.
• Excellent incident investigation and root cause analysis skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and safety management software.
• Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the company's safety program for fabrication facilities and construction job sites.
• Conduct regular jobsite inspections and audits.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, customer, and company safety requirements.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, vehicle accidents, and property damage; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and track corrective action plans through completion.
• Conduct new hire orientations and required safety training.
• Deliver training on OSHA Construction Safety, Fall Protection, Rigging and Signal Person, Forklift/Powered Industrial Truck, MEWP/Aerial Lift, Hazard Communication, and PPE.
