Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Safety Manager to lead Health, Safety and Environmental programs at the project level within the Southeast District. This role requires a self-starter able to work with minimal supervision and to quickly learn our safety policies, procedures, and software systems across multiple sites, including Florida locations and the U.S.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years' experience managing large construction projects.
• Knowledge of construction safety, local and federal regulations, hazard recognition and injury management.
• Ability to operate in varying environments and endure diverse weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Communicate between Kiewit and client management regarding safety matters.
• Develop understanding of contract plans and specifications.
• Oversee incident investigations and follow through with corrective actions.
• Manage multiple oil and gas projects.
• Work with facility safety manager to implement leading indicator action plans.
• Lead a team of 3-7 safety coordinators and techs.
• Interact with client teams to maintain positive relationships.
• Routinely inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify hazards.
• Monitor workforce for unsafe behaviors and coach colleagues.
• Write and implement jobsite safety plans.
• Coordinate safety training and OH&S reporting requirements.
• Attend safety meetings and coordinate with home office Safety Department.
