Job summary

Brown & Brown, Inc. is seeking a Safety Loss Control Consultant to provide risk management, loss prevention, and safety services focused on workers’ compensation, general liability, and auto losses.

The role involves conducting safety assessments, developing loss control programs, and coordinating with insurers and claims teams. The ideal candidate has an engineering background with 7 years in insurance, knowledge of NFPA/FM Global standards, and strong writing abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 7 years in the insurance industry is desired.
• Professional Engineer or Certified Fire Protection Specialist designation is desired but not required.
• Knowledge of ‘all risk’ property loss control and NFPA/FM Global standards.
• Excellent writing, communication, and time management skills.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations for general industry and loss control best practices.
• Willingness to travel 30-50% nationally.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety assessments at customer facilities including hospitals, universities, real estate, retail, and process industries.
• Recommend, implement, and improve safety and loss control programs based on loss history and industry best practices.
• Review large losses with claims and analytics teams to develop service plans.
• Coordinate visits and service plans between insurer loss control and customers.
• Prepare COPE reports with analysis of exposures and recommendations.
• Develop webinars, training courses, and seminars on safety topics for customers and account teams.
• Assist account teams with new business opportunities and renewals.
• Prepare customers for insurer property inspections.
