Job summary

Gilbane Building Company seeks a Senior Safety Manager to lead the safety function for a mega project. You will drive safety culture, develop project safety plans, and mentor teams to ensure timely risk mitigation and regulatory compliance.

You will collaborate with leadership to align safety initiatives with project goals, leveraging SafetyNet and industry best practices on complex construction sites across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in safety/engineering preferred.
• 5–7+ years of construction safety management experience.
• Certified Safety Professional certification.
• Experience on complex mega projects.
• Experience with crane/structural/ excavation safety is a plus.
• General contractor or owner-delivery experience preferred.
• Instructor certification by GU and OSHA a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee implementation of Gilbane Cares safety culture across the business.
• Develop and distribute project-specific safety plans and safety alignment.
• Perform SafetyNet inspections with observations per month.
• Audit project teams' Safety Plan implementation using SafetyNet.
• Analyze SafetyNet reports and share findings with project teams.
• Coach and mentor teams in hazard identification and action closure.
• Ensure timely closure of open SafetyNet items.
• Assist with corrective action plans and incident investigations.
• Identify training needs within business units and deliver sessions.
• Lead safety program development and reporting to leadership.
• Support client pre-qualification and safety presentations.
