Job summary

Portland General Electric seeks a Senior Safety Coordinator for Western Region to design, implement, and oversee safety programs across Wilsonville, Beaverton and Hillsboro. You will lead risk analyses, investigations, and reporting, while driving continuous safety improvements with contractors and internal teams.

Responsibilities include coordinating education programs, managing special projects, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science, business, human resources or related field or equivalent experience.
• Typically five or more years in professional safety and/or in electric generation, transmission and distribution operations.
• Certifications such as CSP, ASP, CHST, OHST, CUSP or COSS preferred depending on position.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety risk analyses for contractor activities during project constructability reviews and planning.
• Conduct routine and complex investigations including incident reviews and root cause analyses.
• Develops and runs safety reports and analyzes trends for presentations to leadership.
• Coordinate and drive follow-up on action items from reports and investigations.
• Lead safety program development and continuous improvement with contractors and internal teams.
• Facilitate safety meetings and contribute to emergency/incident response readiness.
