Job summary

Alliant Energy is seeking a Senior Safety Consultant to lead hazard identification, risk assessment, and safety program development across its operations. You will conduct inspections, investigations, and training to ensure regulatory compliance and safe work practices.

This role emphasizes collaboration with safety leadership, data-driven performance tracking, and effective communication of safety concerns to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree Emphasis in safety, industrial hygiene, physical or natural sciences, or related area Preferred
• Certification CSP, CUSA, and/or CIH designation Preferred
• 5 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Conducts hazard identifications and risk assessments across corporate and energy operations.
• Performs inspections, document reviews, interviews, and hazard analysis to support safety programs.
• Organizes hazard evaluations and compares hazard levels to standards; tests equipment and analyzes risk.
• Investigates complaints, exposures, accidents, injuries and illnesses; reviews related standards.
• Interacts with local safety leadership to implement injury-reduction measures.
• Develops safety communications and educates various audiences on safety practices.
• Tracks safety performance metrics; assists in OSHA recordkeeping.
• Conducts Industrial Hygiene monitoring and analyzes environmental exposures.
