Job summary

The Defense Logistics Agency seeks a Senior Occupational Safety and Health Specialist to administer a comprehensive safety and health program across warehousing, transportation, and maintenance functions. You will lead the Safety Management System and drive safety improvements through supervisor-employee committees.

You will conduct mishap investigations, identify root causes, and implement controls to eliminate hazards while ensuring program compliance and worker protection.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing safety or occupational health programs.
• Ability to develop and recommend safety policies.
• Knowledge of safety laws, regulations and procedures.
• Experience training safety personnel.

Responsibilities

• Administers a safety and occupational health program for warehousing, transport and maintenance.
• Oversees all facets of the Safety Management System (SMS).
• Establishes safety committees to identify hazards and promote safe practices.
• Conducts mishap/accident investigations and determines root causes.
• Ensures compliance with applicable safety and health policies across departments.
