Job summary

Performance Team is seeking a Safety Specialist to assist in organizing and managing safety programs across a distribution center. You will monitor program effectiveness, conduct audits, and support incident investigations to drive safer operations.

The role requires OSHA knowledge, hands-on safety experience, and strong organizational skills. On-site work schedule is full-time, with opportunities to contribute to a robust safety culture.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of hands-on safety experience.
• CPR / First Aid certification.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local OSHA regulations.
• Planning and organizational skills.
• Detail oriented and a team player.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and track the effectiveness of Safety Programs within a DC operation.
• Remain current with relevant regulatory requirements and serve as a resource for the department.
• Conduct incident investigations to identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Conduct audits and inspections within the assigned DC, reporting and follow-up to ensure compliance.
• Assist managers in promoting safety awareness through training materials, emails, and safety topics.
• Continue to create and progress toward a safety culture through training and risk assessments.
• Share best practice information among PT facilities.
• Verify forklift inspections are completed and equipment is maintained, with operators certified.
• Identify and correct unsafe conditions and behaviors.
• Ensure Distribution Center follows company SOPs.
• Conduct Safety Committee Meetings.
• Ensure fire extinguishers and eye wash stations are inspected monthly.
• Conduct employee training across multiple shifts when needed.
• Maintain safety programs/literature within the building.
• Position is full‑time and on‑site.
