American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking a Safety & Health Consultant Principal to lead prevention policy design, training, and program development. The role requires deep expertise in OSHA/MSHA standards within electric utility operations and will coordinate across departments to enhance safety culture and regulatory adherence.

The position sits onsite in Ohio with responsibilities including investigations, program leadership, and strategic safety improvements aligned with company objectives.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in safety, health, industrial hygiene/health, or related field.
• Associate degree with two years’ electric utility field operations experience.
• High School diploma/GED with five years’ electric utility field operations experience.
• 8 years of S&H or electric utility operations experience in addition to education requirements.
• Must maintain a valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and advise management on S&H event prevention policies and procedures.
• Communicate S&H information across departments to enhance awareness and compliance.
• Assist in designing effective S&H programs tailored to organizational needs.
• Direct S&H training programs and conduct site observations.
• Provide guidance to management on prevention strategies and regulatory adherence.
• Advise on safety regulations for new or modified facilities and ensure compliance.
