Discord seeks a Senior Engineer on the Safety Experience team to lead production API, backend services, and data pipelines that prevent harmful activities while ensuring regulatory compliance. You will design, build, and maintain systems to protect hundreds of millions of users and report to the Engineering Manager of Safety Experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience writing Python and backend API frameworks (Flask, Django).
• 5+ years experience developing front-end interfaces with JavaScript (React, TypeScript) for web and mobile.
• Familiarity with Cassandra, Postgres, and ScyllaDB.
• Demonstrated success leading end‑to‑end delivery of complex projects and coordinating rollouts.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, debug, and test complex systems in production.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with cross‑functional partners.
• Experience using metrics and dashboards to drive data‑driven decisions.
