Job summary

CS Power Systems, a cutting-edge division of Canadian Solar, seeks a safety engineer to develop and monitor safety programs in a manufacturing environment handling hazardous materials. Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or OSHA Authorized Trainer preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in safety engineering within manufacturing handling hazardous materials.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor safety programs for manufacturing with hazardous materials.
• Conduct OSHA-mandated safety training sessions on Hazard Communication, LOTO, PPE, and more.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and applicable regulations.
• Perform risk assessments and hazard analyses; propose corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance to integrate safety measures.
• Lead safety training sessions and employee workshops.
• Investigate accidents and near-misses to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Maintain safety documentation: SDS, permits, inspection reports, training logs, audits.
• Lead Lockout/Tagout procedure development and training.
