Job summary

ElevenLabs is seeking a safety infrastructure engineer to design, build, and operate production-grade moderation systems across our AI platforms. You will own architecture, deployment, and monitoring of safety services and collaborate with ML engineers to deploy models.

You’ll work closely with Product, Legal, and Safety Policy teams to translate policy requirements into scalable engineering solutions and help shape the direction of our safety framework at a fast-growing, globally distributed

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building and operating production systems.
• Strong backend engineering with API design and scalable services.
• Proficiency in Python and modern backend frameworks.
• Experience building and maintaining distributed systems and cloud-based applications.
• Ability to own systems end to end from design to deployment and maintenance.
• Ability to collaborate with Product, Legal, and Safety Policy teams.

Responsibilities

• Build safety systems: design, develop, and scale automated moderation systems and guardrails across ElevenLabs’ products.
• Respond to emerging threats: identify patterns and continuously improve safety systems and detection mechanisms.
• Own production infrastructure: build and maintain internal safety services with architecture, deployment, reliability, and monitoring.
• Bring ML models into production: deploy and integrate fine-tuned models into production safety systems.
• Build end-to-end solutions: develop backend services, APIs, internal tools, and user-facing interfaces for moderation and policy enforcement.
• Collaborate across teams to translate requirements into scalable engineering solutions.
