Job summary

Draper in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Software Engineer (SMTS) to develop high-performance embedded software for resource-constrained targets across undersea, terrestrial, air, hypersonics and space domains. The engineer participates in the full software development life cycle and mentors others.

You will design algorithms, evaluate requirements, and lead V&V activities while collaborating with customers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• 5–10 years of software engineering experience.
• Experience with safety-critical systems V&V is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design algorithms and develop embedded software for real‑time targets.
• Evaluate requirements and propose design solutions.
• Develop and execute software tests to verify compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and communicate with stakeholders.
• Identify risks and drive mitigation strategies.
