Job summary

Con Edison is seeking a Safety professional to serve as SME across key safety areas at their New York operations. The role requires ensuring regulatory compliance, preparing safety reports, and coordinating improvement initiatives.

The candidate will review incidents, lead root-cause analyses, and maintain ongoing safety programs. On-site work in New York with potential travel for field sites and emergencies is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering, science, OSH or related technical field with required work experience.
• 5+ years in health and safety program development or operations leadership.
• Strong understanding of OSHA and workplace safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME in safety areas and provide day-to-day guidance on OSHA standards.
• Review injury/illness reports and coordinate safety meetings.
• Prepare reports on regulatory updates and performance trends.
• Drive continuous safety program improvements across sites.
• Interact with internal/external stakeholders to identify best practices.
• Lead incident investigations and root-cause analyses when needed.
