Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Safety, or related field.
• Minimum of five years experience in Industrial Health, Safety, or related field.
• Thorough knowledge of State and National Electrical Codes, Electrical Theory and Circuits.
• Expert knowledge of program and contract administration rules, regulations, policies and practices and OSHA standards.
• Analytical and investigative skills to determine action plans.
• Ability to develop alternatives and standards in ambiguous situations.
• Program, practice or policy management and development skills.
• Proficient with PCs including spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and presentations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including handling sensitive issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead local safety committees and emergency response teams.
• Consult and educate employees on laws, regulations and safe work practices.
• Develop safety and health risk assessments and task analyses.
• Analyze hazards and risks per local/state/federal regulations.
• Implement processes and procedures to minimize risk.
• Provide expert safety and regulatory counsel.
• Inspect facilities, machinery and safety equipment for hazards and compliance.
• Investigate industrial accidents and preventive measures.
• Review incidents with depth proportional to seriousness.
• Review employee safety programs for adequacy.
