Job summary

Extense SARL seeks a S1000D / XML Content Architect to govern the data-module strategy for aviation defense IETM programs. You will design the data-module taxonomy, DMCs, and applicability models, while guiding publication structures and BREX compliance across teams.

You will mentor authors, collaborate with customer architects, and coordinate with XML/XSLT engineers to ensure reusable, valid source content that publishes correctly to IETM, HTML, and PDF outputs.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required and able to undergo a federal background investigation.
• 8+ years in structured-content/XML technical publications.
• 5+ years hands-on S1000D (Issue 4.x) on production programs.
• Experience defining DMRL, BREX, applicability model for real programs.
• Strong knowledge of S1000D schemas, DMC, ICN, CIR usage.
• Experience with CSDB platforms and XML validation tooling.
• Ability to translate engineering changes into S1000D content decisions.
• Clear written communication and ability to document architecture for teams.

Responsibilities

• Design S1000D content architecture for data module taxonomy, DMC, information types.
• Develop and maintain Data Module Requirement Lists (DMRLs).
• Govern and evolve BREX rules; ensure BREX compliance across modules.
• Define publication-module structures and content-reuse strategies.
• Lead applicability and effectivity across aircraft/config variants.
• Review authored modules for schema, BREX, editorial conformance before release.
• Support CSDB structure, status workflow, and content-promotion rules.
• Coordinate with XML/XSLT on transformation, validation, publishing pipelines.
• Maintain architecture documentation: style guide, applicability model, DMC scheme.
• Mentor authors/reviewers and escalate complex content-modeling questions.
