Job summary

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Compiler Engineer to advance GPU systems programming with Rust. You will design and implement Rust-to-GPU backends, IR frameworks, and JIT pipelines that enable memory-safe, high-performance kernels across NVIDIA GPUs.

You will work on compiler IRs (MLIR, PTX/LLVM), optimize ahead-of-time and JIT workflows, and define safe parallel abstractions that extend Rust across the GPU boundary. Equity and comprehensive benefits accompany this role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of compiler development, language design, or GPU code generation.
  • Deep expertise in Rust including MIR, procedural macros, and borrow-checker model.
  • Hands-on experience with IRs and code generation (LLVM IR, MLIR, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of parallel programming models and CUDA.
  • Ability to lead complex compiler-engineering efforts from research to production.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain Rust-to-GPU backends and Rust-native IR frameworks.
  • Build compiler IRs and optimizers for MLIR, PTX, and LLVM with GPU-specific tweaks.
  • Support ahead-of-time, JIT, and link-time workflows across NVIDIA GPUs.
  • Define safe parallel abstractions that extend Rust across the GPU boundary.
  • Expose device-side abstractions for shared memory, barriers, and Tensor Memory Accelerator.
