Remotebase is recruiting senior Rust developers for flexible, part-time engagements. You will design, build, and maintain high-performance backend services, focusing on safe Rust code, performance, and scalable architectures.

You will work with async Rust using Tokio and frameworks like Axum, Actix-web, or Tonic, profile hot paths, and collaborate with distributed teams across time zones. Remote-friendly, with overlap requirements and strong learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 3+ years of production Rust.
• A deep understanding of ownership, borrowing, lifetimes, traits and generics.
• Strong hands-on experience with async Rust (Tokio, futures, Send/Sync bounds).
• Experience building and running backend services or systems software in production.
• Solid grasp of concurrency, memory management and performance profiling.
• Comfortable with testing in Rust (unit, integration, property-based) and with CI/CD.
• Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases (Postgres, Redis, etc.) through crates like sqlx, Diesel or SeaORM.
• Familiarity with Docker, Linux and at least one cloud provider (AWS, GCP or Azure).
• Strong written and spoken English.

Responsabilités

• Design, build and maintain production-grade services and libraries in Rust
• Write safe, idiomatic and well-tested code with attention to performance
• Build async services with Tokio and frameworks such as Axum, Actix-web or Tonic
• Profile and optimize hot paths, and fix concurrency, latency and memory issues
• Integrate with databases, message queues and cloud infrastructure
• Review code and mentor less-experienced engineers
• Work asynchronously with distributed teams and clear written communication
