Job summary

Capital Technology Group (CTG) is seeking a Technical Lead specializing in Ruby and Ruby on Rails to drive the design, development, and modernization of federal software systems. This senior role requires deep backend architecture expertise, systems thinking, and hands-on engineering leadership across complex enterprise environments.

You will mentor engineers, lead architectural discussions, and partner with product, DevSecOps, and infrastructure teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in CS/SE/IS.
• 9+ years of professional software engineering experience including enterprise development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, React, Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs.
• Experience designing distributed systems, microservices, and scalable enterprise apps.
• Experience building cloud-native apps in AWS/Azure and working with CI/CD and DevSecOps.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and modernization of enterprise software systems for federal mission needs.
• Drive engineering efforts across the full software development lifecycle from architecture to deployment.
• Build scalable, secure backend applications using modern engineering practices.
• Architect and develop APIs using REST and GraphQL.
• Lead design reviews, architecture discussions, and technical decisions.
