Avenue Code is seeking an expert-level Ruby on Rails Developer to lead design, development, and maintenance of core web applications. You will work on Rails 6/7, handling inventory, scheduling, transportation, and processing logic while building scalable APIs.

The role emphasizes full-stack delivery, testing, documentation, and collaboration with internal teams and external partners to ensure fast, reliable, and secure systems.

Qualifications

10+ years of professional software engineering experience with Ruby and Rails.
Extensive knowledge of API design and interface technologies.
Strong front-end skills: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and jQuery.
Experience with testing frameworks (RSpec, MiniTest) and TDD.
CI/CD experience with CircleCI/Jenkins.
Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent training.

Responsibilities

Architect, build, and maintain features for a Rails 6/7 application.
Design and integrate APIs to internal tools and vendor systems.
Handle back-end logic and front-end interfaces to deliver full features.
Identify bottlenecks, optimize performance, and resolve issues.
Create technical documentation and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Write automated tests to ensure data quality and reliability.
