Job summary

Workato is seeking a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer to join our growing team. You will build API interfaces and backend infrastructure, collaborating with UI, connectivity and DevOps to deliver elegant, scalable solutions.

The role requires 7+ years of Rails experience, strong Ruby, and solid knowledge of PostgreSQL and caching. You will contribute across all phases of the development lifecycle, write clean, testable code, and propose architectural improvements.

Qualifications

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.
• 7+ years of experience developing, shipping and maintaining Rails applications.
• Strong knowledge of Ruby.
• Excellent debugging, analytical, problem-solving, and social skills.
• Solid knowledge of object-oriented programming and design.
• Experience with relational database systems (PostgreSQL) and Redis-based / Memcached caching.
• Contributions to open-source projects are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build complex Ruby on Rails applications.
• Build server-side infrastructure for the Workato user interface.
• Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle
• Write well-designed, testable, efficient code.
• Evaluate and propose improvements to the existing system.
• Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review.
