Job summary

Seneca Resources is seeking a senior RPG developer to maintain and enhance the ADPH Vital Statistics system on the IBM AS/400 platform. You will work with RPG/400, ILE RPG, SQL RPGLE and CL/400 to implement changes, write tests, and document solutions.

Role involves system analysis, design improvements, production support, debugging, and collaboration with business stakeholders to ensure reliable, compliant operations for critical legacy applications.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of verifiable RPG programming experience.
• RPG experience must include work performed within the last 12–15 years.
• Strong hands-on experience with the IBM AS400 platform.
• Experience supporting business-critical applications.
• Strong systems analysis and design experience.
• Application development and maintenance experience.
• Production support, troubleshooting, and debugging experience.
• Testing and quality assurance experience.
• Strong technical documentation skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Must be eligible for Alabama State Merit System employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance the ADPH Vital Statistics System.
• Develop, modify, and maintain RPG applications.
• Analyze existing systems and assist with application design and enhancements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production application issues.
• Debug applications and perform issue resolution.
• Perform application testing, validation, and quality assurance.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and procedures.
