Job summary

Constellation Energy’s Dresden Nuclear Power Station in Morris, IL seeks a Radiation Protection ALARA Specialist or Sr ALARA Specialist to drive the ALARA program, apply shielding, flushing, and technology to minimize exposure, and support long-term radiation protection planning.

The role collaborates with station teams on outage and online activities, conducts ALARA reviews, and develops performance packages. Strong knowledge of health physics and regulatory standards is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health physics or related science with 1 year of related experience
• Current or previous Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license with 5 years of related experience
• Associate’s degree in health physics or related science with 3 years of related experience
• High school diploma/GED with qualifications for ANSI 3.1 RP Technician or 5 years of related experience
• Maintain minimum access requirements and favorable medical examination/testing

Responsibilities

• Attend meetings representing Radiation Protection and ALARA and allocate RP resources
• Track and monitor RP metrics to reduce CRE and exposure
• Assist Station Personnel to schedule work with ALARA controls
• Write ALARA packages and implement corrective actions
• Conduct in-field ALARA observations and ensure standards are met
• Develop clear oral and written communications for all audiences
• Support outage activities and other department duties as needed
