Job summary

Mapbox is seeking an Engineer to design, develop, and operate significant areas of our routing services. You will tackle complex routing scenarios, build best-in-class routing experiences, and deliver customizable solutions for OEMs and niche customers.

The role requires 5+ years building large-scale low-latency backends, 3+ years with Rust or Go, and experience with AWS infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. Geospatial and navigation experience are a plus, and Mapbox values diverse, inclusive

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building large scale/high volume low latency backend services.
• 3+ years of experience engineering Rust/Go based solutions in a commercial or open source environment.
• AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM) using infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of operating systems and distributed systems (e.g., fault-tolerance, consistency, service discovery, etc.).
• Experience with modern AI development tools and practices.
